Student Visas

The United States allows foreign nationals to enter the United States and attend a very broad selection of schools, colleges, and Universities. This is a popular and growing visa category and for several reasons. The visa gives individuals the ability to study and live in the United States. The stay in visa category is typically granted for the duration of the degree program. For instance, a Student Visa issued for a  Bachelor’s Degree would typically give the student a visa that would be valid for a period of 4 years with a grace period added at the completion.

While in the United States on a Student Visa, a student will be eligible for employment authorization on a limited basis. Importantly, a student, upon graduation can apply for post graduate curricular or optional practical training, gain employment and remain in the United States for additional time.
